Beef Massaman Curry

2,5 hours

85 g unsalted and roasted peanuts

400 ml coconut cream

4 tbsp massaman curry paste

600 g beef, cut into big pieces

450 g potatoes, cut into big cubes

1 onion, roughly chopped

4 kaffir lime leaves

1 cinnamon stick

1 tbsp tamarind paste

1 bsp brown sugar

1 tbsp fish sauce

1 red chilli

Rice, fresh coriander and extra chopped peanuts for serving

Preheat the oven to 180°C (160°C with a fan).

Heat 2 tbsp of the coconut milk in a casserole and fry the massaman paste in it for about a minute. Add the beef, and brown it for a few minutes. Add the rest of the ingredients, and put the casserole in the oven. Let it cook for 2 hours, or until the potatoes are tender.

Serve with rice, and sprinkle some coriander and peanuts on top ;)

Massaman curry is a Thai dish, but the flavor is a fusion of Thai and Indian.
