Chinese Chilli Beef

Ingredients:


500 g beef

5 dl neutral oil

20 g minced ginger

3 cloves of minced garlic

1 spring onion, finely chopped

1 chili, finely chopped

8 tbsp cornflour

½ tsp sesame seeds

1 tbsp coriander 


Marinade:

2 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp sesame oil

¼ tsp sugar

1 egg 


Sauce:

4 tbsp vinegar 

3 tbsp honey

2 tbsp ketchup

1 tbsp sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)

Directions:


Slice the beef into medium thin pieces and add them to a bowl. Mix in the marinade ingredients and let it marinade for at least 20 minutes.


Prepare the vegetables while you wait.


Coat the marinated beef with the cornflour.


In a pan, heat oil to 170-180°C. Add a few pieces of the beef at a time and deep fry for about 2 minutes. Make sure to turn the pieces regularly so the beef is cooked thoroughly. When  done, set aside on a plate covered with a paper towel. Add the next batch.


Mix the ingredients for the sauce in a small pot and let it simmer for 2 minutes.


Stir fry the garlic, ginger and chilli in some oil for about a minute. Add the meat, and then pour the sauce over it. Mix well.


Serve with rice, and sprinkle some sesame seeds, coriander and spring onion over it!
